Board Member, National Transportation Safety Board
Dr. Earl Weener (pronounced way-ner) is a Board Member with the National Transportation Safety Board. Prior to joining the NTSB in 2010, Dr. Weener held many positions within the aviation industry including as an aerospace engineer and as chief engineer of airworthiness, reliability and maintainability for a major aircraft manufacturer. He also served as a Foundation Fellow for the Flight Safety Foundation. Dr. Weener received his bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees in aerospace engineering from the University of Michigan. He is a lifelong aviation enthusiast and pilot and owns a 1982 Bonanza, B36(TC).
At WATS 2018 he will be talking about NTSB’s Most Wanted List for 2018 and the ongoing issue of loss of control in flight crashes.
