Manager, Air Carrier Training Systems and Voluntary Safety Programs Branch (AFS-280)
Mr. Burke is the manager of the Air Carrier Training Systems and Voluntary Safety Programs Branch (AFS-280) at FAA Headquarters.
Mr. Burke was the FAA’s Designated Federal Offical for the 208 Aviation Rulemaking Committee which led to the formation of the ICAO/FAA/EASA LOCART initiative. Mr. Burke is currently the FAA Co-Chair for the Air Carrier Training Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ACT ARC).
Mr. Burke came to the FAA in 2006 after 14 years of air carrier experience which included both domestic and international operations. Mr. Burke held part 121 air carrier positions in management, training and a line pilot, serving as a Captain, Check Airman and Chief Pilot.
FAA Regulatory Review
Robert Burke will provide an overview of the voluntary safety programs that his office manages. He will also present an overview of the Air Carrier Training ARC and upcoming regulations regarding simulator training. After the presentations, Rob will be available for a general Q&A session.
