Digital Natives Go to Flight School: Teaching Strategies from Collegiate Aviation
Students currently enrolled in college were born between 1995 and 2000, making them part of a new generation. Social scientists have identified this group as Generation Z or Digital Natives. These students cannot recall a world without iPhones, high speed internet, and a global war on terror. They’ve watched their family weather the Great Recession. How have these experiences shaped this generation? Digital Natives will soon be entering the workforce; it’s time to get to know them. This presentation will focus on how flight schools have adapted to training the Digital Natives.
