Robert Jex, FAASTeam Program Manager (Ops), Orlando FSDO, FAA
Bob Jex serves on the Orlando FSDO’s FAA Safety Team and has been involved in flight training in Central Florida since the mid-1990s. He is passionate about his work! He is an ATP, Gold Seal CFI, WINGS fanatic, and was named the Orlando FSDO 2004 CFI of the Year. His experience includes publishing in AOPA Pilot magazine and various other trade journals and web sites. During his 28 years in the US Navy, Bob flew as an Electronic Warfare Officer in both the EA-6B “Prowler” off of aircraft carriers, and later, in the EP-3J “Hydra” aircraft. Bob retired from the naval service as the Commanding Officer of a large Reserve unit near the Orlando International Airport. Today, he proudly serves you on the Orlando FSDO’s FAA Safety Team, with a mission to improve General Aviation flight safety. Current duties include working with numerous public interests and all facets of aviation industry where safety of flight and accident prevention are concerned. Bob has been the Orlando District’s point of contact for the FAA’s coveted “Wright Brothers Master Pilot” Award since its inception. Bob is an innovative and impassioned public speaker on behalf of General Aviation safety.
