A View of Engineering Training from Europe
Marc Arendt, Manager Technical Training and Examinations, Cargolux
Marc is a supervisory board member and regular speaker of European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee – EAMTC. He’s also a member of the EASA stakeholder advisory board representing EAMTC and Cargolux Airlines int he engineering and maintenance “EM.TEC” group.
He has 33 years in his current company, Cargolux Airlines International – Europe’s biggest all cargo operator – with a fleet of 27 (+2) Boeing 747-400 and -8F’s where he started off in maintenance and engineering and worked his way to the actual position as Manager Technical Training and Examination, managing EASA, UAE and Russian approvals for MSTO’s Part-147 and -66.
One of his favorite activities in Cargolux is being part of a project team with whom he has been starting up new airlines (AOC, OPS & CAMO) for Cargolux and Partners in Italy and China.
He’s also president and member of different EASA/EAMTC work groups revising Part-147/-66 regulations, new teaching technologies and methods and published recommendations and guidelines to EASA.
Being fluent in 5 languages (Luxembourg, English, French, German and Dutch) and always open to new ideas and technologies, Marc is enthusiastic to continue his professional career in aviation and has already started some new exciting projects …
